5 REAL TIME IMAGE CAPTURES OF THE DEVELOPED LUMION ENVIRONMENT

Aerial view of the architecture school. A complete view of the form is shown. It's structure can be seen being derived from the manipulation of simple shapes to form a piece of architecture.

Rear view of the architecture school.

Perspective view of an open corridor. An element of "art" is added to the walls to invigorate the interior atmosphere.

Moving Element 1- Spiral Elevator

The spiral elevator adds to the facade of the building through its vertical spiral motion. This form of dynamic motion creates an artistic appeal hence livens the mood of the building.

Moving Element 2- Studio Rooms

The studios move in line with its two beam supports. Due to the size of the studios, their movement up and down rails can alter the sense of "weight" of the building creating different human experiences depending on their location. Hence these moving studios allow the building to become art piece as well as an architecture.

design process pt3- Moving elements ideas

Moving Element 1- Moving Studios

My first moving element idea was to have moving studios. I thought that from the exterior, this can create a change in form of the building as the position of the studios change whilst from the interior, the students are able to view the context from different perspectives for inspirational purposes.

This idea was continued and developed into my draft model.

Moving Element 2- Spiral elevators surrounding a spiral staircase

Initially, I had decided on creating a spiral staircase elevator that has 3 levels allowing more people to use it at once.

It is now a spiral staircase that connects from the ground to the level below the top. It is surround by two circular elevators that move in a spiral shape up and down.

Design Process Pt2- Inspiration from Chosen Plan-->Section

The plan I've chosen is from the Brick Country House. I believe it relates to my architectural theory "complex and evocative forms can be created by merging/distorting simple shapes..." as this plan consists of a simple fusion of rectilinear forms. From this plan I drew up some possible draft section of my building

I finally ended up with a sketch that I considered my first draft model.
