The art and architecture seems to tell whether an unusual building can
become an icon. Complex and chaotic-seeming shapes are included in a range
of monumental concrete structures around the world. Contemporary Brutalist
architecture, is alternately described
as majestic and depressing; peacefully minimalist to some and looking like muddled remixes of one another to
others.Regardless of how you feel about concrete architecture in
general the
original construction is very monochrome – creamy.Nothing interferes with monumentality and
symbolism. Although initially imposing and
authoritative, adding colour to a structure will radically change
the impression it gives without physically transforming anything as the
building itself becomes the art piece.Ugly or lovely, at least the structure’s
inspiration is an intriguing idea that has a demonstrable and
interactive effect that will enable visitors to further understand
and enjoy the singularity of this architecture.
Derived Theory
Complex and evocative forms can be created by merging/distorting simple shapes, however it lacks the element of art.
